About Paula Casciani

I am an Irish citizen who has received a bilingual English and Spanish education throughout my primary and secondary school years. I was educated under the Baccalaureate system specializing in Teaching and Education, before proceeding to graduate with a Bachelor of Education degree (Honours), specializing in TESOL for elementary years (ages 4-12 years). I have 12 years experience in 3 countries as an English teacher in a variety of formal learning institutions such as kindergartens, early childhood centres, primary schools, senior high schools, colleges and private English institutes for adult business learners. Specifically, I have worked 2 years in a private primary school in Argentina as an ESL teacher, teaching foundation level courses and English through literature, language and social studies for 10 to 12 year-olds (5th and 6th grades). I also regularly provided support lessons for children aged 6 to 10 years. Creating a syllabus in compliance with the school and the National Board of Education guidelines to be approved every year by the Ministry of Education was within my responsibilities. My teaching experience also extends to older students, where I have taught business level English courses both in Argentina and Ireland. I have also taught English in Ireland to university level students as well as providing private lessons to various ages and abilities for 3 years. In relation to my experience in Japan, the majority of my teaching experience has been as a Senior High School English teacher, where I have taught in private senior high schools for 5 years with an emphasis on Oral Communication, EIKEN preparation and TOEIC. Furthermore, I have also taught 2 years in junior high school, general and specialized English courses for 1 year in a vocational college and 1 year in an early childhood education centre.
