About Paula Struwing

A high-impact and motivated leader in the fields of Community and School Health with extensive experience in competitive educational, recruiting, athletics and wellness environments. Successful at generating top performing programs in a variety of settings by establishing both short and long term goals coupled with appropriate alliances, sponsors and partnerships. Especially skillful at identifying and developing new programs and professional relationship opportunities and exploring benefits for all stakeholders. Proven ability to connect with students while still holding them accountable through the promotion of student agency, restorative justice practices and building mutual respect and rapport in the classroom, hallways as well as during school activities. I have a proven history of establishing an appropriate use of empathy, support, compassion and advocacy when working with my scholars and their families. Be it in the middle class western suburban district of Lyons Township or the highly diverse U-46, Chicago or Proviso districts my ability to relate to students and lead them toward successful citizenship has been consistent across the boards. The ability to work in predominantly minority schools as a Caucasian woman in Chicago has taught me how to be the very best advocate for ALL students in ALL circumstances. My administrative Type-75 will allow me to touch more lives in that capacity and that is the next mission for me; to move more young scholars forward into positive lifelong stewardship.
