About Pedro Coutinho

After some years of studying and being in contact with various programming languages, I decided to focus on my web development skills. Since the start of my professional career, I've focused on learning PHP, JavaScript and MySQL. I came across beautiful frameworks like Laravel, which paved the way to enhance my skills in each respective language. They also pushed me towards delivering better, cleaner and testable code. Throughout the years, I shifted my focus mainly towards the Backend. I came into contact with concepts like Domain-Driven Design, CQRS and Event Sourcing that opened my mind to a whole new way of software development. Product development started to tie in with software development, domains being explored and modelled and code started to reflect such models. This turned into a passion, which later on brought me into the AWS world, where I managed to leverage Serverless Framework to build PHP microservices running on Lambda, with amazing scale and performance, unlocking a whole new world of possibilities without a heavy maintenance burden. I can say, this is where I am now on my professional journey: leveraging Domain-Driven Design to craft quality software, using AWS infrastructure to support my architecture decisions and making use of Event Sourcing to provide value to the business that is not yet known. Besides all this technical mambo jumbo, I also like to play some PlayStation when time allows for it, running, doing workouts, as well as spending time with my beautiful family!
