About Penny Wang

I have industry leading experience in principal investments and investment banking in the infrastructure sector focusing on renewables and energy transition. I have demonstrated success in developing, building and commercialising renewables projects totalling more than across APAC, and executed over $4bn of M&A and financing transactions. I am wholeheartedly committed to making a contribution to accelerate the energy transition by sourcing, creating and executing investment opportunities. I excel in leading projects throughout the lifecycle from origination, acquisition, financing, asset management to exit; and have demonstrated achievements in sponsoring transactions and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders. As a respected leader, I am intuitive, dedicated, with a reputation of “making things happen”. My significant achievements include- Development, financing, asset management and exit of Macquarie’s principal investment in Lal Lal Wind Farms in Australia (228MW)- Development and financing of Macquarie’s principal investment in Formosa 2 offshore wind project in Taiwan (376MW)- M&A adviser to John Laing for divestment of its Australian renewables portfolio (209MW) I am deeply invested in team management, talent development and mentoring throughout my career. I am also a keen musician as a classically trained pianist, and dream of being a singer on Broadway (perhaps when I retire).
