About Per Lidar

Dr. Per Lidar is a senior expert with broad experience and more than 30 years of professional experience in the nuclear sector, of which within radioactive waste management and radioactive metals and waste processing since 2006. For more than ten years, Dr. Lidar worked with metals degradation in LWR environments, and was a member of the EPRI Expert Group on materials degradation and participated in other international collaboration groups. Software development for nuclear use has been an important part of Dr. Lidar’s career, which include closed-loop control systems for material testing, five years working with full-scope nuclear training simulators, and database development for radioactive waste management and decommissioning projects. From 2012: Senior Advisor Radwaste management and Decommissioning 2011: Dr. Lidar was manager for a Consulting group. 2010-2011: Dr. Lidar was the Project manager for the R2 reactor decommissioning project. 2009-2010: Dr. Lidar was Team leader for the radiological survey, database development, and reporting for the Ranstad uranium mine decommissioning project. 2006-2008: Dr. Lidar was manager and technical expert for the radwaste processing facilities in Studsvik, Sweden (i.e. decontamination, metal melting, incineration, conditioning of waste for final repositories (to meet WAC)). He has provided technical support to numerous clients in the areas of waste characterisation, waste acceptance criteria, waste processing, clearance of potentially radioactive materials, database development etc. He is known nationally and internationally mainly related to processing of radioactive waste and metals, waste acceptance criteria, decommissioning, database QA/QC and for degradation of materials in LWR environments. Dr. Lidar is since 2010 Team Leader for Material and Radwaste management reporting in the OECD/NEA WPDD R&D Task group.
