About Pete Gallagher

I am a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and Performance Consultant with over 25 years of experience working at the highest levels of international sport. My professional focus lies in consulting with elite sports organizations to evaluate and enhance the systems and structures that underpin athlete care, rehabilitation, and performance outcomes. For 19 years, I was proud to serve as Lead Physiotherapist with the All Blacks, contributing to five Rugby World Cup campaigns and two championship victories in 2011 and 2015. This role provided deep insight into building and sustaining high-performance environments, particularly through interdisciplinary collaboration and athlete-centred care. Over the last decade, I have extended this expertise globally—consulting across the NBA in the U.S, as well as with professional rugby and rugby league teams in Japan and Australia. My consulting work focuses on aligning medical, performance, and coaching departments to establish integrated pathways that support athlete durability, recovery, and elite performance. I am passionate about building world-class sports medicine systems that combine clinical excellence with strategic alignment, ensuring athletes—from emerging talent to seasoned professionals—receive the best possible care across all stages of their performance journey.
