Upon returning home to Ireland after teaching and travelling abroad for a few years, I completed a course in Project Management and I have recently graduated with a level 9 Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship through UCD's Innovation Academy based in the Guinness Enterprise Centre. I worked on a series of challenges and projects – large and small, addressing real-world problems and opportunities, while also learning to apply creative and entrepreneurial tools including Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas and Customer Discovery. This included designing and testing new ideas while meeting experienced entrepreneurs and leaders from all sectors to hear their advice and insights. This course equipped students with the opportunity to develop new skills and enhance existing skills that are in high demand by employers across all industries and sectors. These skills include- Creativity and design based problem solving - Effective teamwork, networking, pitching and leadership skills - To innovate, validate and execute new ideas - Leave with the skills and contacts to develop a business or find employment I have worked in the recovering Irish banking sector in IBRC (Formally Anglo Irish Bank) as part of the Recovery Management Ireland area. Focused on an impaired loan book with a large volume of clients with personal responsibility for a substantial amount of the total loan book exposure. Extensive experience in restructuring personal debt and working closely with insolvency practitioners with an overall goal to maximise recovery value. Responsible in the decision making process which includes demanding facilities, registering judgments and appointing receivers to bank assets. Dealing directly with solicitors and insolvency practitioners on a daily basis to develop recovery strategies. Good credit writing abilities and experience in weekly presentations to bank credit committee forum.
