With 10 years’ experience in geospatial analysis, in business, the private sector and Local Government, this GIS Analyst/Developer has demonstrated professionalism in applying geospatial technology to solve real-world problems. Equipped with a 1st Class MSc in Geo-Spatial Data Management, the focus has been on creative solutions, such as enhancing route optimisation for service distribution or analysing catchment areas for schools and community services, aiding in the strategic review of vital resources. Instrumental in integrating live situational maps for Blue Light services in a live exercise, he has contributed significantly to the evacuation strategies for vulnerable individuals during extreme weather and flooding events, with elements of this work now being integrated in Emergency Planning Teams. The use of AI in accelerating the development of Python plugins for QGIS has been a notable achievement, particularly in creating a model to evaluate the viability of solar panel installations in QGIS, across large residential areas; later implemented in Power BI. This includes assessing crop conditions to identify areas requiring fertiliser, as well as evaluating the health of pastures and woodlands for conservation efforts, analyses establishing change detection over time. Additionally, work involves managing the corporate geo-database and legacy web-mapping systems, both internal and public facing, ensuring the accuracy of data for optimal performance, whilst adhering to PSGA requirements for data dissemination.
