About Peter Koblowsky

Peter is a driver of change by heart and profession. With over 15 years of professional experience in the international development sector, he is a well-experienced strategist, manager, and facilitator of multi-stakeholder processes. His focus areas are Climate Policy, Governance, Sustainable Development and Citizen Data. In his career, he devised and led various strategic collaboration programmes for NGOs, governments, academia, and other actors from across different fields. Starting his career as a researcher and analyst of climate policy networks, over the last few years he served as project and partnership manager, building additional skills in fundraising, event management, contract negotiations, as well as monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL). He also acquired extensive knowledge in global policy processes and in the facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes at the national and international level. Since its establishment in 2017, he is serving as the head of the Leave No One Behind Partnership, a coalition of more than 100 international, national and local NGOs. The partnership supports the participation of citizens and marginalised groups in decision making spaces, working with an advocacy approach that is based on the use of Citizen Data: data that is produced by citizens, aiming to raise awareness on specific matters and improve the status quo. The partnership is hosted by the International Civil Society Centre and currently active in nine countries. Over the years, it has become an influential global advocacy player, being engaged in strategic collaborations with governments and key multilateral agencies like the UN Statistics Division (UNSD). Peter is a co-founder of the global Citizen Data Collaborative, currently also serving as its co-chair. The Collaborative brings together key actors like UNSD, UN Women, the World Bank, GPSDD, Paris21, or the Danish Institute for Human Rights, jointly working towards an increased use of Citizen Data by governments in monitoring and policy planning processes. Peter has also been appointed by UN ESCAP as member of an expert working group towards the development of an all-of-society-approach for statistics.
