About Peter Miller

PETER MILLER has a long association with MIT, doing both his undergraduate (chemical engineering, computer science, management) and graduate work (Sloan School of Management) at MIT. He was on the board of the Cambridge MIT Enterprise Forum and was chairman of the board of the Global MIT Enterprise Forum for four years. He has served on the MIT Alumni Association Board of Directors. He has been Co-Director of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service since 2002. Peter Miller has a strong record of helping build start-up companies from their early days to liquidity, including Abt Associates, now a company with revenues of over $500 million, where he was the third employee while in graduate school, and later COO. Peter has been board member, principal advisor and/or an officer at three software companies he helped build, all of which were sold to public firms. He was a commercial advisory board member for an industrial biotech company which had an IPO in 2006. He is a member of the angel group Boston Harbor Angels. Currently Peter was COO of Genomic Healthcare Strategies, a boutique consulting firm which provides strategic inputs to healthcare companies on markets, acquisition strategy, and market impacts of new science. He has been principal author of a number of articles and editorials in peer-reviewed journals. He speaks frequently at molecular medicine and genomics conferences on business models, trends, and strategy. He is a Founding Principal of Great Dome Associates. Peter has served on a number of advisory boards and boards of directors. He has worked with groups from large communications firms, teams from large pharma and other Fortune 500 firms, as well as young growing companies. Peter is currently writing and working with clients on issues of incorporating entrepreneurial practices into large firms, innovation strategies, and helping companies scale up their activities and organizations. He is finishing a book for high-tech startups.
