About Peter Nyman

Currently working as Product Compliance Officer at Polestar. Formerly Lead Compliance Engineer for Volvo Trucks which incl Responsibility for Conformity of Production (COP) for EU/ECE approvals, when it comes to content and type of checks, including any potential non-conformity reporting and follow up with the authorities​ if necessary. Started my Engineering career as a Dimension Manager (later called Dimension Architect) in the Vehicle Data Experts Group. The main responsibilities were to secure that complete vehicle dimension data from the Volvo internal IT-systems, corresponds to the reality, and that they follow legal demands, now and in the foreseen future. This includes securing that the data is updated, added to the system when necessary, and that the data is within the legal limits. From that position, taking the step to the Vehicle Certification & Compliance Group at Volvo Trucks was rather natural, since part of previous job was to support that department with dimension data to be compared with the certified data. Outside of work I am a full blown motorhead and mountain biker. An odd combination perhaps, especially since I am one of Europe´s only part time professional monster truck drivers, but it is actually quite logical to me since the power train is equally interesting to me regardless if the source of the power is petrol, diesel, electric, just muscular or other. Even though I have done some rallying and motorcycle racing, I love foremost off-roading sports, no matter two or four wheels, but I also enjoy exercising and adventure. Mountain biking has become my latest hobby since it combines the best of two worlds to me, especially if you add some downhill sections in between the cardio requiring climbs.
