Creating competent, successful young people with the right attitude in life to transform our planet into a better one, guided by the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals.+32 475 67 43 18 While my main task for WWF was wildlife protection in East Africa, my frustration grew by the day. The poor education of local people was the main reason why animals were being slaughtered. I realised that education should one day become my main goal in life. The pollution of the Kenyan coast by oil rigs made me understand that prevention on the side of the polluter would be more effective than trying to protect wildlife from human stupidity. I went to work for a major ocean polluter as a sustainability manager. Again, low education level was the main reason for pollution. I was able to achieve a lot of animal protection by training the lower-skilled foreign workers. I was able to prevent billions of litres of crude(crual) oil from spilling into the oceans. The best thing I have ever done in my life. Once the problem was 'under control', major competitors copied my realisations. Double win for nature! A job was offered to design and realise the new airport in Brussels. Having no international airport before 1995 would have cost Brussels its status as the capital of Europe. Time for global thinkers to build a sustainable airport. We made it happen within BATC! A fantastic job for designers, builders and innovators but there were so many political issues involved. Human stupidity this time was enhanced with human selfishness. 10 years later, it was time for me to do my own thing. My own company "Belgian Centre for Quality Management" gave me the opportunity to help companies and their staff evolve to a higher level. But again: seeing a lack of attitude, respect and small thinking reminded me of the African butchers in Kenya.Nothing changed, it just transformed. Global warming, global pollution, extermination of human and animal life, wars, bombings. It all has a common origin.poor education and selfishness. Nelson Mandela said it once: “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world”. Let's change the world and educate youth where we can. We founded Sustainable Stories, an NGO that educates young children to take the future into their own hands. Developing their entrepreneurship in relation to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals is our mission. Helping them to take action and make the world a better place is now my personal goal.
