About Phil McGee

One of the founders of the XFI Corporation, where I worked for 20 years, my role as Software Architect required me to establish the overall system design for an application, be the technical lead for the development team, scout new technologies, and be the problem solver/debugger of last resort. I guided the evolution of the company's software stack from a C++ application running on an HTTP library, to Java Servlets, JEE, Spring, MongoDB, microservices, JSON and REST. XFI's most successful product, SalesHawk, was an intelligent sales automation tool with General Motors fleet as a key customer for more than 10 years. As the main enterprise application for sales, we supported sales resource automation, we served GM's direct-to-corporation (fleet) sales and support teams, their management, and their financial analysts. Due to our outstanding performance in reliability, usability and user satisfaction GM eventually entrusted XFI with designing and hosting their Master Account Index containing the essential information on all corporate customers and contacts. GM's restructuring after the financial crash came with a mandate to eliminate all IT outsourcing, which included XFI. After 8 years GM’s internal IT developed the capability to replace the essential services we had provided, and in 2017 we stopped actively supporting SalesHawk. Subsequently, XFI changed direction to serve the emerging market for digital health. Our initial offering, Zatient, is a public-facing application to assist those concerned about serious health conditions such as cancer, Alzheimer's and autism. Zatient is a technical success, selected in July of 2018 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as one of 5 semi-finalists in their Artificial Intelligence Health Challenge Competition. Currently XFI needs further financing to support the marketing and continued development of Zatient. As a result I am looking for new opportunities to apply my talents.
