About Philippe Lattes

I was hired by TotalEnergies in 2012 as a metocean specialist after 6 years at French Centre National d'Etude Spatial (CNES) and Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), where I worked as Project Manager on spatial altimetry, oceanography, climate change and as Operation Manager for EU and French Arctic Projects. As Metocean Specialist, I manage studies within my specialty and supervises metocean and oceanographic surveys (as Technical Supervisor, HSE Referent and Company Representative) on the relevant sites, in order to determine their impacts on site architecture and operating conditions. I provide metocean parameters for structures design and marine operations for Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind and EMR energies. I'm involve at all stages of project development as well as for assistance in drilling, installation and repair operations. In 2020, I joined the South African subsidiary to bring my expertise to support offshore drilling and seismic operations in an ultra harsh environmental conditions which has been a technical and operational success. On my return in 2021 I adapted my expertise to new energies: wind and solar. I manage several R&D projects (and not only in my speciality) with internal and external collaborations and many different actors in energy sectors. I represent the Group within the Metocean committee of the IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers). Committed to innovation, associated with several publications, I won the Best Innovators prize in 2018 and 2019 and the first prize of the Technology Committee Group in 2018. Member of internal and external task forces: “New Technologies in Offshore Monitoring”,"Natural Hazards and Climate risks", “Climate Change”.
