About Probir Das

I am an Audio-visual communication specialist, with specializations in videography, photography, documentary filmmaking, scriptwriting, and video editing. I obtained my Master of Science degree in Botany in 2001. Due to my extreme fascination with audio-visual media, I completed my diploma in film making in under the distinguished film director Abdus Samad. Until 2005, I worked as a freelance videographer in the television industry in Bangladesh. Then at the end of 2005, I joined a satellite Television channel as a video journalist. From 2005 to 2019, I have worked very efficiently as a Video expert in some of the famous satellite television channels ( Maasranga TV, ETV, Boishakhi TV) in Bangladesh and have been able to prove me as a skilled Videographer. In 2019, I quit my job in television and started working in the development sector. I think there are a lot of opportunities to work with audio-visual communication in this sector. I started working as a video consultant on a project of Blue Gold Innovation Fund. I worked on this project from 2019 to December 2020. Here I have worked as a mobile-based video production trainer and agricultural documentary filmmaker. In this project, I have taught mobile videography to 250 young farmers and development workers. With mobile, they have captured success stories in agriculture and learned how to share the edited video on social media. Besides, I am working on video content development of many organizations. Trying to add video documentation to various research projects. That is why I am helping to make videos of many projects for free. While working in the agricultural-based development sector, I saw that video-based communication works well in the underserved and rural areas. Video is a strong communication tool that can also be a strong tool for any type of business development. I have experience working in the development sector, as well as long experience working in television channels. In the coming days, I would like to work in a non-profit organization because there are opportunities to work directly with people and for people. I am eager to work with the development sectors that are working with audiovisual communication.
