About Prudence Mononyane

I am an innovation and business professional with a cross-disciplinary foundation in science, finance, and strategy. As a Portfolio Manager in the Health Sector at the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), I lead the evaluation and management of health innovation projects from proof of concept through Technology Readiness Levels, with a focus on commercialization and impact in Africa. With over six years in South Africa’s public innovation ecosystem, I bring experience in investment readiness, stakeholder engagement, and managing policy-aligned funding instruments. I hold a BSc Hons in Biochemistry, a BCom in Financial Management, and have completed an MBA in Finance and Management at the International University of Japan (IUJ). I am a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma—an international honor society recognizing the top 20% of students in AACSB-accredited business schools worldwide, a distinction held by leaders in global business and academia. In Japan, I’ve interned in venture capital and business development in Tokyo and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in International and Strategy Management courses. I was also an elected member of the IUJ International Management Council (a student representative body). As Deputy Director of the Hult Prize OnCampus Program, I led student entrepreneurship mobilization, and as Head of the Speakers Team for TEDxIUJ 2025, I managed speaker curation and preparation for a globally licensed event. I am driven by a commitment to inclusive innovation, early-stage investment, and sustainable development through evidence-based investment in science and technology.
