About Rachael Dobosiewicz

Rachael Dobosiewicz is currently a project engineer at KL & A Structural Engineers. She has experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and timber framing. She also has experience in CLT and mass timber. She sees projects through from early onset (schematic design) through construction. She has worked on a number of projects including commercial but predominately high end custom residential and mountain resort work in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. She is working towards her PE licensure. Rachael obtained her M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Graduate Certificate in Engineering for Developing Communities. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University with a degree in Civil Engineering as well as a minor in Policy Studies. She has experience working in construction, material testing, and structural design. In addition, Rachael has experience working overseas, specifically in the Philippines. She has also studied engineering principles and practices, both ancient and modern, while abroad in Bulgaria, Italy, and Greece. Rachael aspires to create not only beautiful buildings that are simple and sustainable, but also to apply her knowledge to help build safer structures for those living in high risk areas. She believes the right approach is to build capacity among local builders and engineers. She truly valued her time while volunteering with the non-profit organization Build Change in their Philippines office. When she is not marveling at the ingenuity of the human mind and its ability to create beautiful structures, Rachael enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, photography, and reading.
