About Rachel Howanetz

In May of 2018, I completed my undergraduate degree from Millersville University, and received my Bachelor of Science in Education (Pre-K through 4th grade) and a minor in Psychology. I feel this minor has helped prepare me with the tools that I will need to guide children towards growing not just academically in the classroom, but socially and emotionally, as well. In January of 2022, I completed my graduate degree from Wilkes University, and received my Master's degree in Educational Development and Strategies. In the fall of 2019, I started as a 4th grade teacher at Nitrauer Elementary in Manheim Township School District. Prior to this position, in the spring of 2019, I served as a fourth grade long-term substitute at John Henry Neff Elementary. In the fall of 2018, I served as a fourth grade long-term substitute at Reidenbaugh Elementary. In the fall of 2023, I started my current position as a 3rd grade teacher at Riverdale Elementary School in Dedham Public School District. In addition to creating standard aligned lessons with clear goals and objectives, my lessons have been shown to be filled with engaging, higher-order thinking activities that are conducive to all learners.
