About Rahul Mate

Passionate about cinema, fine art, literature and photography, while teaching in media school Rahul Mate makes a little change into the life of people by connecting them with world of creative freedom. With around a decade of experience in filmmaking & two decades of experience in the higher education sector, Prof Rahul has seen mass media bloom since the era of globalization. His teaching pedagogy revolves around the practical application of theoretical knowledge that has helped his students develop behavioral & social skills required in the industry. Prof. Rahul has published 3 Research Papers. that have helped him bring innovative ways of imparting knowledge. In his current role as Lecturer at VU, he is teaching Mass Communication, Film Direction & Advertising. Prof. Rahul has been a mentor to 15+ students as a part of his career journey in this domain. He has taken up administrative responsibilities along with his academic duties. He has also been adding value to the University’s development through various initiatives & as a member of VU’s Branding Team. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he has always valued the power of learning, skill development & growth. He has been a Guest Lecturer in numerous Media Institutes. Prof Rahul has also worked as a Scriptwriter, Editor & Director for various fiction & non-fiction projects with production houses such as UNESCO, Kanehere Studio, Million Pixals Production, Abhishikha Production to name a few. He also has successfully completed many Faculty Development Programs, Workshops & Short-Term Online Courses on Social Media Strategy & Digital Marketing from renowned e-learning platforms like Google & HubSpot ( FDP’s/ STTP’s/ Short Term Courses) that have helped him find micro-niche within conventional realms of education.
