With a robust background in labor & employment law in both the private and public sectors, my tenure as Senior Labor & Employment Attorney at the Office of Chief Counsel aligns with my experience. Specifically, I am an in-house counsel for the Agency alongside an amazing team of attorneys and paralegals. Representing the interests of the U.S. Department of Treasury across a multi-state jurisdiction, my core competencies lie in litigation and federal employment law compliance, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the American with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, etc. My goal is to integrate my legal expertise with a commitment to justice, ensuring that our team's actions reflect the highest legal and ethical standards. This is particularly important because the IRS employs roughly federal employees. In my current position, I have taken the lead in representing the Internal Revenue Service across multiple legal forums, demonstrating my adeptness at navigating complex employment disputes and providing strategic advice to Director-level officials within the Agency. My experience as a former judicial law clerk to several federal judges has honed my analytical abilities, enabling me to craft compelling legal briefs and contribute to the successful resolution of cases. With a focus on collaboration, I work alongside the Department of Justice to uphold our legal obligations and to protect the rights of employees while also safeguarding the Agency's interests. Before transitioning to the federal government sector, I worked as an associate at several major law firms and represented private employers and other public employers in labor & employment matters, and in mass tort litigation as well. In terms of my community involvement, I currently serve on the board of Teach for America, Metro Atlanta. I am also a governing board member of Excelsior Academies Charter School, which is Henry County’s first charter school.
