Background

About Ramin Ayanzadeh

My primary area of research is the system and architecture of quantum computers and emerging accelerators. Quantum computers have the potential to tackle certain problems that exceed the capabilities of classical supercomputers. However, quantum hardware is noisy and prone to several error sources that prevent us from reliably running quantum programs on them. To address this, I develop software policies for improving the fidelity of noisy quantum hardware. I specialize in full-stack optimization, where I develop policies across all layers of the computing stack, from the application layer, programming languages, and compilers down to error correction and mitigation. Additionally, I am working on protecting the security and privacy of quantum programs. Moreover, I am involved in quantum intelligence and intend to bring quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning together. I am also engaged in theoretical work and addressing complex real-world problems using quantum computers and quantum machine learning models.
