About Randi Taggart

A clinical social worker whose interests lie predominantly in the areas of sexual and domestic assault victim-survivors (and those of sex trafficking). I have valuable experience working with children and adults who are victims of assault/abuse and other forms of trauma, thanks to both Henrico SCAN and Henrico CASA volunteer opportunities, and my work at VCU Health and Hanover Safe Place. Case work, assessment, court reports, and empowering clients and their caregivers are among the duties I performed at CASA. At SCAN I utilized guided play and trauma-focused activities in small group settings in weekly themed sessions carefully designed for children.At Project Empower/IVPP at VCU Health I worked one-on-one with victims of domestic and sexual violence during their hospitalization, and often beyond. Offering support, remaining available for the patients, and providing community resources, I met each individual during a critical times in their life, and walked their healing journey with them.Individual, ongoing counseling with victims of sexual/domestic violence, writing blogs, developing a group counseling program, and providing general program support at Hanover Safe Place provided the opportunity to enhance my skills.With years of exhaustive research and community involvement, I am dedicated to working with those who have endured trauma in their lives as they implement their innate strengths and abilities on their journey toward living at their greatest potential.The ability to establish rapport, strong work ethic, adroit written and verbal communication, and self-motivation are skills that enable me to perform well in diverse settings.
