About Reece Baseby

With a natural aptitude for solving problems, strategic thinking and the technical capability to engineer most things, I possess a unique set of skills and experience that enables the organisations I work for to transform their products and processes. As a specialist manager in the architectural modular design industry, I’ve led significant projects in new product design and product development and transformed the manufacturing process at SPACECUBE. Part of the leadership team, I work with directors and executives to develop strategies for future business growth and direction. I believe the design of any item, product or system should be the foundation of the business. Good design is what makes a business unique and drives growth. From 2021 to 2023 I was responsible for SPACECUBE’s entire manufacturing process. A key area of focus was improving the engineering capabilities of our products, including our glazing systems, and aluminium profiles. For three years I oversaw the manufacturing of a product that increased our stock holding from 1200 m2 to 6200 m2 with a replacement value of around $3.5M. With a curious nature, I’ve enjoyed the development of multiple new products and the improvement of many current products. Adopting a collaborative approach to product design and the manufacturing process, I've worked with many suppliers, learning from them as we’ve successfully delivered products for SPACECUBE. By partnering with and learning from engineers, I understand the manufacturing process and have learnt many engineering systems, further developing the capabilities and abilities of our products to assist in design. The projects and tasks I enjoy the most are the ones where I’m able to analyse problems and implement systems to solve these problems - where a legacy or imprint is left behind that makes something or someone better. I am particularly proud of the successful delivery of a SPACECUBE solution for a hospital for Monash Health during the pandemic. Within ten days, I had the hospital prepared and ready to go. Under normal circumstances we would deliver and install over a 3 day period, but because we had to do it at the hospital overnight, we achieved the delivery and install within 18 hours. This required managing the plan down to the minute, including changeover shifts, crew meals and factoring in COVID-19 restrictions.
