About Regine Vroom

After working for industry at Volvo Cars, I joined Delft University of Technology where I had various positions, such as Faculty Board member, Quality Manager of Education, and Assistant professor at Design Engineering. Currently I am a senior lecturer design engineering at the faculty of mechanical engineering: developing, coordinating and teaching design education. I hold an M.Sc. diploma with distinction (cum laude) and a PhD degree in design engineering. I participated in European research projects and work as expert evaluator for the European commission (EU) evaluating research proposals submitted to their calls, I published more than 60 scientific papers including several journal articles and co-edited 5 special issues for scientific journals. I chaired multiple visitation panels to assess design education programs for accreditation purposes. And I was a member of the central Works Council of the Delft University of Technology in which I had my focus on education, research and HR issues. Key expertise areas: design engineering, mechanical design, scientific education and knowledge intensive product design (including design methodology and creativity, artificial intelligence, socially skilled products, and human-in-the-loop cyber-physical systems).
