In Bangladesh diplomatic service (1995 -). Served a good part of career in multilateral economic diplomacy. To date, served in Bangladesh Permanent Mission to UN (New New Delhi (2003-05). Between 2005 to 2011, worked on South Asian regional cooperation, including a stint at SAARC Secretariat (Kathmandu) as a Director. Dealt with regional agriculture and rural development, transport connectivity, SAARC Development Fund, development of regional projects. Also on development/re-organisation of regional institutions/ processes. 2012: as Director-General (Europe and EU Affairs) in HQs when shepherded Bangladesh’s entry in ASEM. 2013-16: as Director-General (Multilateral Economic Affairs) worked on sustainable development, climate change, migration, development finance, multilateral trade, connectivity, water, blue economy. Steered Bangladesh's engagement in Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The lead interlocutor/negotiator on Bangladesh Sustainability Compact on Apparel and Textile industry; dealt with Responsible Business Conduct (OECD, G7). In the core team during Bangladesh Chairmanship of Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD). Bangladesh point man for Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) Troika (2012-14). Anchored (2013-17) Bangladesh's engagement in Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BCIM EC). Point man on Bangladesh engagements at World Economic Forum (WEF)(2016-18). High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka (2016-20). Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands (July 2020 - August 2024) with concurrent accreditation to Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia. Also served as the Perm. Rep. to ICC, PCA, OPCW and Alternate Governor to CFC, in The Hague. At HQs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) served as Additional Foreign Secretary (Multilateral | Regional affairs)(August to December '24). Afterwards, as Secretary (West). On 7 April '25, joined Delhi as the High Commissioner to India; and, on 29 May, presented Credential to the Hon. President of India. Keen to ideate and innovate. Interested in development, nature, climate change, sustainability, work, business, connectivity, water, technology.
