Work ExperienceI have 36 years’ experience of working in the planning profession within local government, with 24 years ‘experience within the development management environment, of which the last 10 years I have held, management positions.KnowledgeWith a Post Graduate Diploma in Town and Regional Planning, 31 years’ experience in the local government planning sector, qualifications in ecology and architectural conservation I have an unusually broad working knowledge base, which is seldom matched. Notwithstanding my broader knowledge base I have an outstanding knowledge of the English planning system developed in my time as a case officer and honed in subsequent management roles, advising team members on the policy implications of proposals and managing my own case load of complex applications. Examples of applications that I have directly dealt with include, wind farms, gypsy and traveller sites residential sites, supermarkets, the West Midlands Designer Outlet and associated multi-storey car park.General SkillsI regard myself as approachable and able to converse with a wide range of stakeholders.
