About Ricky Cera

I have more than eight years of relevant experience in the private sector handling a variety of administrative, supervisory, and teaching tasks in my previous employment. I have worked as a college accountant for two years, so I have a thorough understanding of the preparation, presentation, regulations, and delivery of financial reports needed for the institution's and external users' decision-making. I have been an internal auditor for the Internal Audit Department for more than two (2) years, designing, developing, and putting into practice various quality control measures, policies, and procedures pertaining to the institution's operations and financial reporting, including standard operating procedures, flowcharting, key performance indicators (KPI), balance scorecards, Internal Audit reports, and other reportorial requirements. After that, I assumed administrative duties for the program related to strategic planning, curriculum design, program budget and asset utilization, program development and growth, human resources, and legal compliances as the department head of the accounting program and later as the dean of business education. I also spent over three (3) years working as a full-time instructor, where I taught accounting, business law, taxation, business management, and finance courses. As a result of my teaching experiences, I was able to improve my skills in time management, conflict resolution, and customer relations. At present, I am one of the Education Supervisors of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 1, overseeing the programs in business, accounting, mathematics, statistics, and economics. I have been in the Commission for more than (5) years, immersed in the academic operations of the higher education institutions and the regulatory functions of the Commission in administering and monitoring the academic programs of the higher education institutions in the Region.
