I relocated from London (UK) to Vancouver in October 2019 having secured a two-year IEC working VISA, and in August 2021 secured Permanent Residency in Canada. Currently, I work as Marketing and Communications Manager for BC Rugby - the provincial governing body for the sport of rugby union in the province of British Columbia. Former Content and Social Media Coordinator for Racing Edge. Planned, wrote, edited and published digital motor racing and classic car content. For seven years prior, I worked as an assistant and associate editor for one of the biggest sports brands in the world. At ESPN, my role was to manage the UK’s fastest growing sports website and produce multi-sport content for digital and social platforms. This extended to managing, producing, writing and editing sports content both in the office and on location for ESPN’s Australia, Global, Africa and India websites - all new editions to the ESPN umbrella - and also ESPN.com, the No.1 sports website in the world. This included breaking news and feature/considered content. I am a qualified sports journalist with a BA Hons degree from the University of Central Lancashire. Over the course of my career, I have written hundreds of news stories and features, interviewed some of sport’s biggest names and covered some of the largest sporting events on the globe, including the Rugby World Cup, Wimbledon, French Open, Six Nations, Aviva Premiership, major boxing fights and numerous PDC World Darts Championships. I specialise in broadcast/web sports journalism and social media marketing, having previously worked as a junior PR assistant for Target Sports Ltd - the UK’s leading darts brand that sponsors 16-time world champion Phil Taylor, among other big names. During my time at Target, I produced editorial and video content for three international websites - Europe, North America and Asia. I've also freelanced for the PDC, among other reputable news organisations such as the BBC and the Grimsby Evening Telegraph. I enjoy writing about a variety of sports, including soccer, rugby, boxing, darts, horse racing, cricket, snooker, golf, tennis and cycling and I’m (fairly) knowledgeable on all of the above. 10 examples of writing included in 'Publications' section below - from news stories to exclusive interview features, live reports and on-the-whistle verdicts.
