I'm a general-practitioner enterprise and web developer currently working in a medium sized shop. I tend to get inserted into projects where they need a technical resource to accomplish specific goals, or I get tapped to deliver one-off systems that usually involve a fair amount of integration with disparate legacy and other systems. I typically architect the entire solution, designing using proven technology and following best practice guidelines. I have a lot of control over the the technology, design, and implementation of my typical project. They come to me, say "we need to accomplish X", and I run with it. I require little supervision and work independently and effectively. I work on projects of all shapes and sizes, from tiny and simple to Brobdingnagian in scope. My current project is a huge insane Customer Master endeavor which has been working for the last 4 years. I architected the solution and was sole developer on a project that tied together multiple silos of marginal-quality customer data. I built and deployed a system which can scale to millions of customer records and matches customers without requiring extensive Data Quality pre-processing. Using Genetic Programming and Grid Processing techniques I delivered a system that is proving valuable for cleaning up the company's customer data silos and reducing Revenue leakage.
