Since 1991 I have been working as a licensed Air Traffic controller, as well as a Supervisor in one of the busiest airspaces in Western Europe, Amsterdam ACC since 2002. In I became the Operational Capacity Manager. In this role I was responsible for and manager of Amsterdam ACC capacities in:* All developments in the ATM system (airspace & airport redesign, system developments, etc)* All temporary activities (events) in the ATM system (e.g. Tour de France relay, Nuclear Security Summit, military exercises, etc)* Evaluations of the tactical operation (structural & incidents)* Stakeholder relations (Schiphol Airport, KLM, governments, CFMU)* The development of capacity substantiations, ATC workload and Capacity Management. In addition to these general developments and responsibilities, there were a number of special projects and events where I had been the leading operational expert with the focus on capacity: millennium transition, volcanic ash distribution, Lelystad AirPort (EHLE). By the end of 2022 I resigned as Operational Capacity Manager for Air Traffic Control The Netherlands. In the beginning of 2023 I decided to establish Bezemer Airspace Capacity Consultancy (ACC). As a consultant I hope to use my extensive knowledge and experience in ATC Capacity in ATM systems where necessary.
