I may be on the home straight but there is still plenty to do along the way. My work involves me with many people in Horticulture. These range from large, multi-site groups to the Family run Garden Centre or Production Nursery. My goal today is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to know about how carbon reduction can be a real thing on our global journey towards net-zero. My 40 plus years in Horticulture - both in HONS production and Garden Retail has given me a wealth of knowledge as to Nursery/Store management, what the consumer is looking for, what sells well and how it should be packaged. A grower at heart, I am always at ease with growers of commercial or ornamental plants with a shared aim to grow our industry by increasing standards and margins and playing my part in presenting the right product at the right price for the marketplace.
