Robert was an original part of the health care start-up, Titan MedLife, as Director of Finance. Titan MedLife is rapidly acquiring numerous existing Home Healthcare companies to create a large consortium in the industry. Robert Kent was the General Manager of the Toronto Titans of the ISL (International Swimming League). The ISL is the first professional swim league in the world and the first truly global sports league. The ISL is made up of the most elite Olympic and World Champion swimmers. Rob managed the Toronto Titans in a league with teams from Tokyo, London, Paris, Budapest, Milan, New York, LA, San Francisco and Washington DC. Robert is the founder and President of the Global Swim Series. The Global Swim Series was the largest swim series in the world, with participants, in 200+ races, in 38 countries. Post-pandemic the GSS now focuses on producing the 'Race The Legends', which is a mass participation swim series which has Olympic Legends participating in the races too. GlobalSwimSeries.com. Robert was an adjunct professor of International Economics and International Finance at the prestigious grad school, The Balsillie School of International Affairs at the University of Waterloo. Previously Robert was the Senior Executive Director and Deputy Head of Treasury at China Construction Bank (CCB) in Toronto Canada. CCB is the second largest bank in the world, by market cap. Robert managed and executed interest rate exposure, balance sheet funding, FX and liquidity risk, and launched the banks first BDN and Bond programs in Canada. Robert also held similar Treasury, Trading and Finance roles for 15 years at HSBC and 5 years at CIBC. Formerly the President and founder of National Closing Guarantee. He is an ultra-endurance athlete and has completed the Marathon des Sables (7 day race across the Sahara Desert), 45 marathons, 6 Ironman triathlons, and attempted the English Channel, swum 46 km around Manhattan Island, swum Lake Ontario in 21 hours, swam at the 1988 Canadian Olympic Trials and has a silver medal from 1986 Canadian Nationals. He also makes time in there for his active family, and plenty of laughs and beers with friends.
