About Rob Mitchell

With over 28 years in the financial services industry, I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and earned a Master in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. I am also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a past President of the CFA Society Vancouver. Prior to co-founding Dixon Mitchell Investment Counsel in June I served as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at a national life insurance firm, where I led a diverse investment team and directed the company’s portfolio of equities, bonds, mortgages and directly-held real estate. This role allowed me to develop extensive experience in portfolio management, risk management and investment policy development. Today I am Executive Chair at Dixon Mitchell, having grown the company as President for the last two decades. I am also Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Investment Committee where I oversee investment strategies for clients. As an ongoing ambassador for Dixon Mitchell, I assist individuals, families, charitable organizations and institutional clients in identifying their investment objectives and formulating comprehensive plans for achieving their financial goals.
