About Robert Aucoin

Dr. Robert is an independent consultant in the fields of learning and teaching design, e-learning and intercultural training. With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Robert's international work has focussed on sub-Saharan Africa and Central America, most recently consulting the the EU-sponsored Education for Employability (E4E) programme in South Africa as a non-Key Expert focussing on instructional design and intercultural communications. Dr. Robert has also recently worked with ZAMCOL, a teacher's college in Solwezi, Zambia helping them to develop online learning programs as well as transition from a college to a university. In Canada, Dr. Robert has consulted with Tamwood College in Vancouver, Canada, Collège Multi-Hexa in Chicoutimi, Quebec and Universidad Estatal a Distancia of Costa Rica. Dr. Robert has years of experience at the intersection between education and health care. Most recently he worked with Queen's University Faculty of Medicine to redesign the post-graduate residency curriculum in Anatomical Pathology. Earlier, he was the Director of the Health and Learning Knowledge Centre at the Canadian Council on Learning and Director of Distance Delivery for the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. Dr. Robert also teaches courses at Queen's University in international development and at Royal Roads University in Justice Studies. He also supervises MBA students at Queen's and MA and PhD students at Royal Roads University. Dr. Robert has an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of British Columbia, an MA in Educational Technology from Concordia University and a BSc in Mathematics from Dalhousie University. He is also certified as an Administrator in the Intercultural Development Inventory.
