Background
About Robert Brogan
About: Our Mission @ KBIC: We serve shareholders as their fractional Executive Vice President of Insurance Operations. We pursue the elimination of unnecessary insurance costs and insurance-management burdens our clients face. We provide objective advisory and fiduciary oversight through a transparent FEE-ONLY relationship. Our work enhances our clients’ pursuit of profitability by eliminating the waste and expensive distractions insurance portfolios cause. • KBIC is 100% fee-only, and we do not provide or sell insurance products. For KBIC to solidify our fiduciary position, which requires objectivity, our clients must maintain a brokerage/PEO relationship that KBIC oversees. KBIC does not receive any revenue, commission, or perks from the service providers (e.g, brokers, insurers, TPAs) we collaborate with and oversee concerning client insurance portfolios. This separation is critical to remaining a conflict-free co-fiduciary to our clients' insurance portfolios. • In 2010, we left our insurance careers to start our consulting firm. We knew that we had to completely disaffiliate ourselves from all insurance products, commissions, revenues, and biases to advise our clients how we wanted. • Our model has evolved into a full-service third-party fiduciary serving corporate insurance plans (e.g, employee benefits) and programs (e.g, P&C). You might be asking, what does that mean? • Our team manages internal insurance duties for corporations. Before our arrival, these fiduciary/settlor burdens (i.e, internal insurance duties) typically rest on the shoulders of the CFO, HR manager, or CEO, depending on the organization's structure. • Large organizations employ HR and Finance professionals often called a "Benefits Manager" or "Director of Risk Management." KBIC delivers the labor and expertise these on-staff professionals bring to large organizations to smaller ones, typically employing between 20 and 500 employees. • 60% of KBIC's business is related to benefits; the remainder is from property and casualty services.
