About Robert Groszewski

Served six years as a part time firefighter/paramedic for the City Of Calumet City, Illinois; and a member of the City of Gary Fire Department since 1984. Rescue specialist for two years and a Safety Officer/Training Captain for twelve years. Served as a Battalion Chief. for 10 years. Prior to retiring in 2012, served as Shift Commander. Responsible for supervision and incident command. Duties also include training current members and recruits in all phases of firefighting, rescue, fire safety/protection, and hazardous materials response. Currently serving as a Captain/Training Officer for the Munster Fire Department. From 1988 on Robert has been involved with industrial safety training, first through U. S. Steel Hazmat Training, then to Environmental Resources Management (ERM) as a trainer and safety consultant. In 2001, several partners formed Safety Training Services, Inc and relocated to Hammond, IN. Robert currently serves as the President, and heads the Consulting Division of the business. Bringing the perspective of an long-time emergency responder into the safety consulting and training arena is Robert's value-added skill. Helping facilities prepare for an emergency can be considerably more efficient when an effective liaison exists between industry and local responders.
