About Robert Marczynski

After a 23-year career at the University of Memphis (UM) and 15 years with the Catholic Diocese of Memphis, Rob is enjoying retirement and pursuing a new career working with students experiencing reading challenges. He currently works with PENCIL, a nonprofit supporting Nashville public schools, and CATAPULT Learning, a division of FullBloom Educational Management serving K–12 students and teachers in public and private schools. Rob began this work with Lindamood Bell Learning Centers, where he trained in Lindamood Bell methodologies and served as a Reading Clinician. He has since expanded his expertise through training in Barton Reading and Spelling, LEXIA, System 44, iReady, BookNook, and Orton-Gillingham.Rob is recognized for combining subject matter expertise with a passion for student achievement. Skilled in policy development, clear communication, and organizational leadership, he held multiple leadership positions at UM, including Assistant Dean for Judicial Affairs, Assistant Dean for Law School Administration, Assistant Director of the International MBA Program, and Director of Interdisciplinary Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. He taught courses in educational law, nonprofit studies, academic skills, and law and religion. Between his years at UM, Rob served as an administrator with the Catholic Diocese of Memphis. He has served on several nonprofit boards and remains active with the Christ the King Catholic Church Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, and Pastoral Services at St. Thomas–Ascension Hospital West.Rob earned a B.A. in Economics from John Carroll University, a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, and an M.S. in Counseling/Student Services from the University of Memphis, where he also completed graduate coursework in secondary education.Rob and his wife, Beth, a healthcare marketing professional, have been married for 40 years. They are the proud parents of three children and grandparents of five. He enjoys family time, reading, music, writing, teaching, cooking, baseball, hockey, and travel.
