I'm a tenacious problem solver who loves to learn from everyone, every failure, and every success. This is a great way to gain deep knowledge of how things work. My favorite place to learning is where the work happens, which is often not air conditioned, might not smell the best, and will likely get your hands dirty. Spending time here consistently is a key to individual and team success. In my career I've been a UPS Truck Preloader, Researcher, Production Engineer, Reliability/Corrosion Engineer, Student/Mentor/Teacher, Logistics Manager, Projects Engineer, and Sr. Facilities/Process Engineer. 18 yrs. in the upstream Oil and Gas industry working on: Development, Subsurface Production, Surface Equipment/Piping, Plants Oil/Gas/Water Processing, Water & Steam Injection, and Steam Generation. In my work I have been fortunate to be part of a team that has delivered and sustained more than of ongoing reliability savings, increased oil and gas production from increased uptime, increased safety due to less exposure due to fewer repairs and freed up 400+ hrs/yr of employee time to create more value. 15 yrs. of experience using Lean/Six Sigma and TPM methods and tools to understand and improve production, injection, equipment, and HSE challenges. My Engineering Rules: 1-People are the why and how. Why: To create value to bless the human family. How: With the people whose shoulders we stand on, the minds and hands of the people we work with and the rising generation. 2-Go often to where the work is happening and learn deeply from everyone, every failure and every success. 3-COROLATION IS NOT CAUSATION. Put another way,"data is not the phenomena. The primary function of data is to represent the phenomena - to create a simulation of reality."-C. M. Christensen. 4-The Streetlight Effect is always tempting us to work with easy to access data. 5-"Science is a belief in the ignorance of experts."-R. Feynman. We need humility, realize we have been wrong in the past and we will be wrong again in the future. Always be willing to trade up, error for truth. 6-The only way to never fail is to never try and failures can only be gifts if we learn from them. 7-Be a Hands-On Engineer. 8-Team success is my success. I have a reputation as an innovator who both grows ideas from concept to start-up and also shares ideas with those around me who are in the best position to use them. I'm not a bleeding edge innovator. I'm good at connecting 50 yr. old technology with 25 yr. old technology, like peanut butter meeting chocolate for the 1st time.
