About Robert Rigby

For the past 7 years I have worked with complex young people in a variety of settings. Both in residential care and semi independent provisions. With my experience I have developed the patience and adaptability to work effectively directly with challenging people and to manage and lead a team striving for positive outcomes. Having been promoted to team leader during my time with Cambian I have adapted my skills to focus more on the staffing and recruitment, running of the shifts and management of the team. I moved on to managing three successful semi independent units and two outreach projects with Netpex when moving to London. Leading and developing three staff teams striving to ensure they optimum support of the young people in our care. Since moving to Suffolk I have taken on a new challenge in managing a retirement development with Yourlife management services. This role has allowed me to develop my skills in working and managing a different client base. By using my already established management skills and strong willed care ethic I have adapted my skills working with vulnerable young people to working with vulnerable elderly people Witt totally different needs. This new role has given me the opportunity to develop and learn new skills in my day to day role and provide an excellent service to the home owners in our care. I have developed skills to write strong care plans and risk assessments by forming strong relationships with the people I care for, having direct and regular meetings with social workers and other external agencies to ensure the people we care for gain the most out of their lives. My goals and aspirations are to further my career working in social care progressing to senior management.
