I studied Corporate Communications at Arizona State University, but then was introduced to ministry work as a volunteer with YoungLife. I worked for the nonprofit org YoungLife for over 13 years in various formats. I transitioned from Urban inner-city work in Phoenix AZ, to rural small town work in Martinsburg WV, then to a wealthy suburban context in Washington D.C. I have had the opportunity to see ministry in nearly every context & developed the ability to transition to fit new roles & meet new challenges. After moving back to the west coast, I was hired onto church staff at First Baptist Church Salinas. I began in Youth ministry, but then saw my talents could be better used as a strategic thinker & planner in a role that was created for me as Director of Connections & Growth.
