About Robert Zinke

As a Research Scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I apply my expertise in remote sensing, geology, and geophysics to investigate the physical processes governing the Earth's crust and vegetation cover. I use spaceborne and airborne optical and radar sensors to image the ground surface at spatial resolutions of centimeters to hundreds of meters, and apply algorithms for change detection to resolve cm-scale surface displacements. My passion lies in applying these remote sensing methods to tectonics and earthquake studies, where I am trained as a field geologist. I have a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from The University of Texas at Austin. I am skilled in InSAR and optical image correlation analys, and adept at Python, MATLAB, ArcGIS and QGIS. My goal is to contribute to advancing our understanding of the Earth's dynamics and hazards through innovative remote sensing techniques.
