About Roberta Rigo

Social Geographer & Environmental economist | PHD Hi! After my PhD research with the mixed academic and non-academic network of Terranova ITN I embarked on a gap year journey that connected me with inspiring communities and autonomous organizations based on shared governance. Now, I'm now excited to move forward to the next step of my professional journey! While my last focus has been on LULCC (land use and land cover change) and land management in agricultural areas, I’ve followed multidisciplinary trainings (i.e, ecology, spatial modelling, decision making, communication…), which have broadened my perspective on addressing transdiciplinary challenges and gave me the keys to work both in academic and institutional contexts. Through my research, I've gained experience in conducting interviews and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data using R. Besides, both my professional and volunteering activities honed my abilities in public speaking, project planning and management, budget monitoring, and synthesizing complex information into meaningful narratives. In the years ahead, my goal is to transition the skills I've gained in academia into operational roles that drive social and environmental sustainability initiatives forward. I'm excited about opportunities in non-profit organizations focused on social and environmental causes as well as roles in scientific communication.
