About Roberto Rocca
I was born in Rome in 1989. I received the M.S.(Hons.) in electrical engineering from the ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome,” Rome, Italy, in 2015. In 2020, I received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Group of the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. From 2019 to 2020, I served as Research Associate at the Department of Astronautical, Electrical, and Energy Engineering (DIAEE) of the 'Sapienza' University of Rome, Rome, Italy. Currently, I am serving as Research Fellow at Fundación CIRCE (Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption), Zaragoza, Spain, My research areas include analysis, operation and control of electrical grids with high penetration of renewable energy sources. My main research interests revolve around the multiphysics design and analysis of electrical machines and the analytical and numerical modelling of electric energy storage systems, renewable energy generation systems and electrical- and smart-grids.
