About Robin Vos

Prof. Dr. Robin Vos obtained his MD degree in Medicine at KU Leuven, Belgium in 2004, after which he completed his specialist-training in Internal and Pulmonary Medicine at University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium in 2012. He obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at KU Leuven in 2010, based on his work ‘Bronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome: new risk factors and role of azithromycin in treatment and prevention’. He is Medical Director of the Leuven Lung Transplant Program, Deputy Head of Clinic of the Dept. of Respiratory Medicine at University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Dept. of CHROMETA - Lab of Respiratory Diseases and Thoracic Surgery (BREATHE), KU Leuven, Belgium. He is Senior Clinical Research Fellow of the Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO), and currently serves as member of the Belgian Transplant Society, Belgian Respiratory Society, board member of Eurotransplant within the Council of Medicine and Science; President of the Belgian Thoracic Advisory Committee (Be-ThAC) within the Belgian Transplant Society (BTS), and as Director-Elect of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). He is past Deputy Editor of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, Past Chair of Group - 08.02 -Transplantation within the European Respiratory Society (ERS), Past Chair of the European Cardio Thoracic Transplant Association (ECTTA); and has been involved as Scientific Program Committee Member for the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), European Respiratory Society (ERS) and European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT). His clinical expertise includes lung transplantation, OB/GvHD after bone marrow transplantation and respiratory intermediate care; and his scientific research interests include the pathophysiology and treatment of acute and chronic lung allograft rejection and pulmonary chronic GvHD. He is Editorial Board Consultant of various journals in the field of Pulmonary Medicine, Respiratory Research and Transplantation,(co-)investigator of several international clinical trials, has co-authored >270 scientific publications, including international guidelines and recommendations, and his H-index is 51. His scientific work is supported by national and international research funds and has been awarded several times.
