About Rory Nathan
I have over 30 years experience in environmental and engineering hydrology in both the academic and consulting fields. My research interests are in a range of engineering and environmental fields, specifically in the estimation of flows in ungauged catchments, regionalisation, the characterisation of hydrologic risk, and the assessment of sustainable limits on the use of water resources. I have extensive experience in the assessment of the impact of climate change on streamflows, yield reliability, and the operation of dams to secure specific performance objectives. Prior to joining the University of Melbourne, I held corporate leadership positions (and was an Executive Director) of Sinclair Knight Merz, an international consulting and engineering delivery company. I was awarded national "Civil Engineer of the Year" by Engineers Australia in and in 2009 I was recognised as one of Australia's "Most Influential Engineers".
