About Royce Bair

As a Mechanical Engineering student at the Colorado School of Mines, I’m motivated by a passion for innovation and a commitment to solving complex engineering challenges. I’ve gained hands-on experience through internships and projects that strengthened both my technical and leadership skills. Most recently, I served as an Engineering Sales Intern at CFM Company, where I supported multimillion-dollar HVAC projects, developed a VBA automation tool that was implemented company-wide, and worked closely with contractors and engineers to deliver accurate pricing and product solutions. Previously, as a Project Engineering Intern at FCI Constructors Inc, I collaborated daily with over 30 contractors, architects, and owner representatives on $10 million projects, ensuring safety, quality, and alignment with design intent. At Mines, I’ve continued to build leadership skills as a Peer Mentor, guiding first-year students through their transition to college, and through active involvement in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where I’ve served as Treasurer, Recruitment Chairman, and Health & Safety Officer. I’m also a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society. My technical background includes proficiency in SolidWorks, MATLAB, VBA, LabVIEW, Procore, and Arduino programming, as well as experience in machining, 3D printing, and CAD-based design. Whether designing a keypad-locked Arduino device, machining a precision derby car, or streamlining business processes with automation, I enjoy bringing ideas from concept to reality. Outside of academics and work, I value mentorship, community service, and staying active in the outdoors. I’m always open to connecting with professionals, students, and mentors who share a passion for engineering, leadership, and continuous growth.
