About Rufus Bird

Specialising in developing buying and selling strategies for private and instituional collections. I have over two decades of experience in the museum and commercial sectors of the art world. A published author with contributions in exhibition catalogues, scholarly journals and in more accessible formats. I have appeared on BBC TV and Radio speaking about furniture and objects in the Royal Collection. After two decades working with European decorative arts, in particular English and French 18th century furniture, I have developed a deep knowledge of works in this area as well as an international network of collectors, curators and professionals. I also managed three Royal Collection conservation workshops over the course of a decade. Particular strengths are in writing and researching and advising clients within wider projects.
