Over the past two decades, Russell has worked with global brands and sport properties that are redefining the future of fandom through major events, youth culture, progressive technology, and immersive athlete content. President, Small Victories Russell is the Founder and President of Small Victories — a consultancy specializing in major event bid development and sport tourism strategy. Major Event/Sport Property Clients Russell’s led major event bids, developed over $40-million in foundational funding for event rights holders, and created innovative ideas in sport tourism and hosting strategies that deliver significantly increased hosting legacy and ROI. Community Builder An active member in Canada's sport community, Russell founded a community movement providing FREE sport discovery for kids (All Sport One Day), developed an award-winning program to promote tobacco-free lives to youth (Sport for Life), and was a Founding Delivery Partner for the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Game Plan total athlete wellness program. He currently serves on the volunteer board of Sport Calgary. Executive Producer, Content Developer Russell was a features producer for NBC Olympics in Sydney and Salt Lake 2002 and has produced feature content for industry heavyweights including ESPN, CBC Olympics, Quokka Sports and ABC Sports. He also created a television series for CBC, worked as a producer of three long-form documentaries and was an executive producer for the documentary Unbroken: The Snowboard Life of Mark McMorris, that earned a special screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
