About Ryan Breen

I am a Lead Technician in the Area 10 Design team within the Highways section of Amey plc with a HNC in Civil Engineering. Liaising with clients, I produce designs of Civil Engineering highways projects from the requests of clients, and Project Managers of Highways England abiding by the HSE using AutoCAD to complete the designs. I have worked on Trunk Road projects including the M6, M62, and M57. With experience in billing, estimating and working with NEC4 contracts gained from Cardiff County Council, and liaising with contractors on current schemes at Amey. I am also a competent surveyor, being in a team of two as a surveyor for Cardiff County Council for two and a half years. As a surveyor I worked with and operated a TS12 Leica Total Station, a TS16 Leica Total Station and a Trimble/Korec SX10 Total Station with 3D Scanner. I also have proficient use in the Leica GNSS Rover GPS system. I have a good knowledge of CAD and have a qualification at Level 3 in the subject. I also have a very good understanding of LSS. A software often used by surveyors. Amongst other relevant qualifications, I am Asbestos trained, and have a LANTRA Certificate and I have also completed my CSCS Test. I have a qualification in IT Practitioners, and IT Users, along with a Level 3 Welsh Baccalaureate and an ECDL. I have also gained a Method of Measurement and a Ground Investigation certificate with Symmonds Madge, and recently completed a CDM 2015 course with Santia. I am now in the process of learning to become a design engineer, and aim to gain Chartership, with my EngTech looking to be complete by June 2020.
