About Ryan Gibson

My name is Ryan Gibson, I wrote and produced my first program at age 12, was running my own network a year later. Though all the programs played for an audience of two, my younger brother and myself, the ratings were always high. The network was called "ToysTV". Where G.I Joe battled He-Man for control of the galaxy and my sister’s Barbie found herself in love with a ThunderCat who could never love her back. This was where I found writing. Then high school and a teacher who pushed words out of me I didn’t even know were there.(Thank you Mrs. Maher-Johnson) Followed by college and later Los Angeles. I was an assistant at Warner Bros. TV where I learned the business of the business. Then a production assistant on “FRIENDS”, where I learned what it takes to be number one. Then a set production assistant on the short-lived comedy “ROCK ME BABY” where I learned always save your money, no show is guaranteed. Followed by work as a writer’s assistant on the Lifetime show “MISSING”, where I began to understand the art of crafting a story and it’s structure. It was after this show I was able to say with conviction and sincerity, I am a writer. I have worked as a Producer and Writer on over 15 independent short films. Later, I transitioned to the world of Reality Television, where I worked on Top Chef II, Treasure Hunters and Last Comic Standing. While working on these shows I was able to learn from some of the best segment and story producers in Reality Television. Then I ghost re-wrote a feature length comedy script for Lion’s Gate and Anvil Studios. Then developed and created an Infotainment reality television program. Which lead to a freelance writing job on the CBS hit "Criminal Minds". Followed by teaching Screenwriting to over 250 eager young film makers in Nigeria over the past two years. I then realized I wanted to pass on all these lessons to a new generation of writers. Which lead me to developing a website for that purpose ScriptTherapyInc.com.
